JCPenney Ellen DeGeneres Hired as Spokesperson

JCPenney has just hired Ellen DeGeneres as their new spokesperson. JCP is making some bold moves like getting rid of coupons, lowering prices, promoting the JCP name, and using social marketing with in-your-face commercials. What do you think of JCPenney's new tactics. Will you continue to shop there or not?

  1. Continue to shop there? I haven't been in a JCPenney store in over a decade... but I'm going there tomorrow. You can send your thanks to Ellen

  2. Continue to shop at JCP? NOT ANY MORE! As a businessman EVERY shirt )over 20) in my closet is a JCP Super Shirt as well as my suits. The ONLY T-shirts I have bought for over 10 years are the JCP Stafford Premium. Let Ellen buy their Super Shirts . . . I for one, will NOT!

    1. You're a narrow-minded idiot and guess what... I'm willing to bet that you will STILL buy your clothes from off the rack at JC Penny. Blow-hard.

    2. Why are you refusing to shop at JCP? Is their merchandise lower quality than you would prefer? If you're doing it because of Ellen, you will find someone like her connected with every business, whether it be an employee, an advertiser, owner, customer, etc. If you boycot every business that has a homosexual connected to it, you will soon run out of everything!

  3. Of course I will continue to shop at JCP, what is the big whoha with you people. Stop condemning people and live your own lives. Worry about your own lifestye and don't project your opinions on other people. I love Ellen!!!

  4. I like Ellen. I have no reason to stop shopping at JCP because she is the spokesperson. I didn't care much for the loud, in-your-face, people screaming commercials but I just hit mute. However, today I saw a JCP commercial with two children carrying white rabbits which multiplied into many white rabbits. I assume the commercial was to advertise their Easter specials. Since Ellen supports animal rescue, I wonder what her thoughts are on this commercial that appears to support the giving of rabbits as Easter gifts. Every year hundreds of rabbits end up in shelters after Easter because they were given as gifts and then surrendered because they weren't really wanted by the recipients. I wonder how much JCP is going to donate to shelters and rabbit rescues to help care for the influx of unwanted post-Easter bunnies promoted by their commercial. I wish advertisers thought through their advertising campaigns more before they aired them.
