AT&T UVERSE Blocking Cardinals Games

Uverse is blocking up to 20 Saint Louis Cardinals Baseball games because of a dispute with Fox Sports.

AT&T has been playing financial hardball with many content providers, like The Hallmark Channel, Discovery, TLC and others. They have made deals with Discovery, but Hallmark is still not shown on Uverse.

Many of AT&T's customers are upset because they signed up for their Uverse service specifically to see all of the televised Cardinals games.

  1. this is obsurd...att should not be allowed to enforce contracts on customers if they are going to arbitrarily prevent them from seeing shows/channels that they purchased the service to see...ie...Cardinal baseball and the Hallmark channel...get with it att or I'll break contract anyway...so sue me...

    1. AND they are doing it again for the 2012 season. Seriously, how much money is enough for you? Please don't say you are doing it because you do not want to pass the charge onto the cusotmers. We pay for those channels when we buy the package, and what determines what games you block? How much difference does blocking 20 games make...ATT can you explain that?

  2. I liked ATT because when started using them I didn't get the headaches I got with other providers. With one company it was billing, with another company is was broadcasting, etc. ATT not showing all the Cardinals games is a big headache for me. So now that every tv provider has given me a headache, why not just exchange the headache ATT is causing me for a headache another provider will give me but where I can at least see all the cardinals games. This is the 2nd time in 2 years ATT has pulled this. We almost lost a bunch of good channels because ATT didn't want to pay for them. What's worse...ATT isn't honest about their problems. They put the Cards Games problem on Fox Sports and the problem lies with solely ATT. ATT isn't the only game in town.

  3. I agree, up until that whole Discovery, TCL, thing, AT&T was a hassle free service. Now with them not showing the Cardinals games....ludicrous. I feel like if I stick with AT&T I'll always have to wonder what service/channels they'll decide not to carry. At least other TV companies are pretty much a solid when it comes to their programming with few if any tweaks in what they offer.

  4. I still have the Direct TV dish on my roof and all the cables running through my house. So I cancelled my AT&T service today and told them is was specifically because of the Cardinals games and they didn't seem to care much. DirectTV is giving me an awesome 6 month rate for all the channels, free installation, and other little temp benefits to welcome me aboard. SO long AT&T

  10. THEY HAVE OUR MONEY BUT WON'T LISTEN TO OUR CONCERNS, THIS IS ST LOUIS AND WE WANT TO WATCH OUR CARDINALS, THIS IS NOT RIGHT. 20 GAMES IS TO MANY TO MISS ESPECIALLY SUNDAY GAMES.

  11. was ready to get the whole deal with at&t but this thing with the cardinals is not funny at all! so what, the cardinals asked for a little more money ! if you were in NY/Boston the price would be 10 times what the cardinals asked . It's a slap in the face to the fans of the cards ! Boycot AT&T ! your only choice to get any action ! PML , loyal Cardinal Fan

  13. Hey You know what I pay tons of money for this crap and was not aware that Uverse was being a pain in the ass. I had a hard day at work and wanted to just come home and watch a Cardinal Game, a Cardinal gtame always has a way of allowing me to relax. I turn the game on and they are showing sh__ ballout basketball that is stupid, with names on jerseys like big dog, slammer, etc. what the hell, and a message shows up at the bottom saying my provider has chosen not to show this game. What horse crap, i pay hard earned money for this and never missed a game on Direct TV

  14. Yet another reason I’ve been a long term DISH Network subscriber (I recently started working for them too). I’ve received virtually every game I’ve ever wanted to see with the addition of the multisport pack. Also another thing to consider is that when you’re getting all your entertainment / communication services from a single source, if one goes down, you lose everything. So if one of my services does experience a hiccup, at least I can still enjoy the others.

  15. The way I see it, last year I could watch all the games for what I paid for UVerse. This year they have cut my service, so I deserve a rebate! But, I'd rather see my Cardinals play! Also, last year, Fox Sports didn't have all the Cardinals games. This year they do. So, of course they want to charge ATT more. Now you tell me - if ATT was providing the customer with more service, wouldn't they be charging me more money???? I loved UVerse until this happened, but no more!

  16. We signed up for U-Verse to be able to see all the Cardinal games and now you are saying you are cutting 20 games. Not acceptable. I think I will be looking into getting another provider that carries all the games. Very disappointing to see a scheduled game and it is not televised by AT&T, you're a big company, show your clout. And incidentally, I want a credit for all the games I will not be receiving.

  17. After spending 1 1/2 hours with UVerse, I am about to blow... And now a friend just sent me this link, and I have read all the comments. And we cardinals fans are pissed off!!!! Att, you better fix this quick, or I am gone... Been a loyal customer for many years, but this is crap !!!!

  18. I applaud AT&T...They have chosen not to raise my bill because Fox Sports Midwest wanted more money for those 20 games. If it came down to not watching 20 games out if 162 or riase my monthly bill, I chose not to watch the games

  19. I got UVERSE for my Mom - especially because of the Cardinal games. She think's she's doing something wrong because the games aren't on!!! C'mon, AT&T!!! Work out a deal and get the Cardinals back on or I'm pulling the plug on you.

  20. It can be really frustrating when things like this happen. I work in the TV industry for Dish Network and I know that these things can happen and sometimes it makes people switch from one provider to another. If you have been considering switching there is a great resource that can help you to decide to stay with who you have or give you information that would help you decide who you want to switch to. The site is called BestTVforMe.com and it has comparison information on pricing, customer service, and a few other pieces of great information that you may not have considered. It is definitely something worth taking a look at. Hopefully they have resolved this dispute by now and if not I hope the information on that site can help you make an informed decision.

  22. I am having same problem and it's April 9, 2012. ATT claims they're "negotiating". I am totally ANGRY, but who's at fault -ATT or Fox Sports? anybody know anything in current time frame?

  23. this is a bunch of bull shit, everybody should drop these bastards now.we should be able to get what we pay for.

  24. I can't believe that for another season, AT&T is refusing to reach an agreement with Fox Sports to air all of the Cardinal baseball games. AT&T can certainly continue to raise monthly fees, but refuses to make an agreement for something many AT&T customers want. I don't understand why many other Fox carriers can come to an agreement, but not AT&T. This is it for me. If nothing is done by next season, I'm back with Charter.

  25. Very dissapointed AT&T Uverse is blocking out 20 Cardinal Games. You need to settle your differences with FoX Sports. We pay to much money not to see games and programs we all signed up for.

One very unhappy customer thinking about switching back to Cable.

  26. I remember they did this last year and all the games were mostly at the beginning. So as the season went on, it didn't impact much. However, it still sucks. I won't cancel because I have too much tied up in it and it would be too much trouble. But what I do is when people ask me how I like uverse,( which happens at least once a week) I tell them they suck, don't play cardinal games and don't bother. I couldn't with good conscience recommend them and then take the call asking where the cardinal game is. Everything else is great. But the problem is, everything else is just everything else. Cardinal Nation! World Series Champs! AT&T should be ashamed of themselves. Don't get uverse!
