  1. I bought a saw today from the Rockland MA. store . Invoice #2650 09 20140 . I get it home and assemble the stand and then get the saw out and find out it has been used. Is Homedepot selling used stuff ?

    1. my boss bought a power paint sprayer at the local home depot and has spent thousands of dollars on other material and items. However, the paint sprayer motor burned up and he went to return it and the local home depot would not return it or replace it. They further told him that they did not care if he done any more business with them or not. I guess the economy for some businesses is so good that they can afford to turn customers away. Because of this I will not shop at this home depot or any other and will let my friends know of the treatment. Scott gloember@gwi.net

    2. I agree with you, their customer policy is terrable . We bought 4 wicker chairs and small table, this week. My husbannd is 74 and lost the receipt. he did not think of the size of the chairs aand that they don't fit in the area we have for them. The chairs where $68. apiece (4 of them) and a small table $59. I brought them back and was told without the receipt they would give me $10 ea. I called before coming in and was told I would get the full amount. The tags where still on them. I really can't afford the loss as I can not use the chairs because of their size. This is how Home Depot treats seniors and oviously other customers. Don't get old and lose receipts

    3. I doubt they said we don't care if you don't do business with us, and that's negligence on your part, receipts are important why wouldn't he think he would need one to return it ???? It's called proof.

    5. I got online looking for a way to contact corporate regarding the poor customer service I received after purchasing my entire kitchen. I came across this website and was interested to see that another customer was told the same thing I was, "We don't care if you do business with us again". By the way, I DID have all of my receipts.

Supposedly the card was to be mailed the the Home Depot in Grand Prairie Tx from HQ Home Depot in Atlanta Georga and has not made it here so far. If and When i get the damn card, i'm going to use it on anything at Home Depot and that will be the last they see of me over there. I think i'll try Ace Hardware or Lowe's but Home Depot Never again. Thank you for the lousy sever Home Depot!!

    8. I never realized the purchasing a refrigerator from home depot would be the worst experience as a consumer. I have been lied to regarding the delivery date not once but twice now by home depot and the delivery company they currently use. So far theirs only been one person that I have spoken to in Home Depot store #477 seem to care that was James the general manager on duty 9/10/12 unfortunately the same can’t be said by the female general manager on duty today. She seemed to be bothered by the fact I was not pleased even raising her voice stating she had no answer for me. How can she expect for the employees to give good customer service if she herself can’t. Just a suggestion to all if you are thinking of purchasing something that needs to be delivery try any other appliance store.

    9. Bought GE ref, maytag washer & dryer 30 days before move in date to our place. Scheduled delivery time to be 9/27. Made changes on the dryer to be gas dryer and got the dryer delivered on 9/25th. Got call from Delivery Dept that the refrigerator and washer will be delivered 10/4/2012. I made a stinker with the manager of the store at Elk Grove, CA Store #6674 that we do not have a refrigerator in the property. So they delivered the small ref (9/27th) a loaner (albeit a small ref that is functional) with the condition that Home depot (according to the Manager Mark) that I will receive a credit for the inconvenience that we have incurred in the process. 10/4/12 came, no ref, no washer. Called the store to follow-up to be told that the units are in of some sort that they have no delivery staff or truck to do it. I believe the 2nd time I bought appliances at Home Depot and the experience is not kosher, poor customer service and follow-up. Not only that, I ordered plantation shutters and venetian blinds through Home Depot. I finally called up Corporate Office in Atlanta, GA to file a complaint. If this issue is not resolved by today 10/5/12, I will cancel the whole orders and just purchase from Lowes, RC Willey or Best Buy. The way Home Depot runs its business, it won't be long when they will sadly go the dinosaur way. The head haunchos should listen to the customers. The internet is so powerful that it will bring down your business. There are Yelp reviews, all kinds of areas to make it known to prospective customers not to patronize the Home Depot.

    1. I've never had such horrible customer service like the one I had the other day from an associate named Saidy in The Home Depot in Miami on Bird Road and 114 ave. She is the definition of a DISGUSTING person. I CANNOT believe that a company with such prestige and such fame would have an associate with number one absolutely no knowledge of what RESPECT means and number two with OBVIOUSLY NO experience in customer service. Someone working with the public in such a big company should have some type of training in the customer service department and this individual has obviously NEVER been taught to deal with customers. She spoke to me as if I was beneath her. I would ask her a question and it was if I was SUPPOSED to know the answer as if my question was stupid and she just wanted me to get out of her face. Let me tell you that I was planning on opening up a Home Depot credit card because I'm completely reconstructing all the bathrooms in my home and because of this specific individual Home Depot lost MY sale and all my family and friend's future sales. Home Depot needs to train their associates better. This company needs to dedicate more money and time to educate this ANIMAL (Cause that's exactly what she is- an ANIMAL actually OGRE would be a better term). I was and still am in complete shock of how bad of a service I received from this associate. I'm not one to complain because I know everyone needs their jobs, but this was to another level. I had to speak out about this. SAIDY from the store in BIRD ROAD AND 114th AVE needs another job because customer service is definitely not her area of expertise.

  5. We bought an LG refrigerator in 2008 with a warranty. After 3 yrs, it is not working and when we called to have it fixed with the warranty, a tech was scheduled to come out but not right away, it took a week. Then when the tech came out, he couldn't fix it because he has to order a control box. He told us it will be a week for the part to come in. I called the Atlanta office & asked if they can send the part overnight but the person I spoke to said they can't do it. After over a week the part came in & the tech scheduled to come out & never showed up & we had to call him & guess what he overslept & forgot to call us. Then we waited for a few days to have them come out & then finally the tech came & put in the part & mind you this is going on the 3rd week without a working refrigerator. After he installed the part, he left & didn't even do a check if everything is working well. Guess what the temperature controls are not working for the refrigerator & freezer. We called the tech & he told us it's another service & part. It's been over a week, no one has called, the refrigerator is not working & the freezer is beginning to lose temperature. We have contacted the Atlanta 800 # & last week was cut off & never got a call back. We left a couple of messages on the person handling our issue & emailed her a couple of times, no answer. Can someone help us? It's been a month & we're not going nowhere. We have been very patient but it seems like our patience does not pay us anything but lots of frustrations. All we want is a working refrigerator, that's why we purchased the warranty. Does anyone in Home Depot cares about their customers?

the customer is their reveune, that just because you (Home DePot) have problems understanding where other companys since to completly
get their customer like Nordstom and Zappos,Why is Home Depot not
calling these companys up and asking for lessons in how to make your
    customer feel special.

  7. On several occasions I have attempted to raise an issue with my local Rio Rancho (Albuquerque, off Hwy. 550)Home Depot's garden center, regarding the hundreds, if not thousands, of plants allowed to die through absolute neglect or by being placed in the hot sun when they are plants that are not sun-tolerant--and we are, after all, talking HOT NEW MEXICO SUN HERE!

My concerns have been responded to with apathy, including--ironically, on Earth Day, last Friday--and, from my view, included a clear message from employees that they don't give a whit about dying plants, the waste the dead plants represent, the environmental impact they represent, the list goes on. My answer is simple: From now on, I shop at Lowe's where a similar issue was addressed quickly and satisfactorily, and there is much less waste in the garden center--not to mention a much better employee attitude.

I am sick unto death of seeing thousands of plants die by being placed in the hot desert sun with no water and no shade--essential here! I am even sicker of the fact that there seems to be ABSOLUTELY NO CONSTRUCTIVE MANAGEMENT PRESENCE AT HOME DEPOT STORES, BUT MOST PARTICULARLY THIS ONE. I don't know what the managers are doing, but they are clearly not, it would seem, "minding the store." Home Depot you have a problem. You've had a problem for years. FIX IT!

    2. the original poster is correct. home depot's financial consultations need to stop looking at the bottom dollar and start looking at the customer service line. Customer service is what brings in the customer. if your customer service is appalling, then eventually people will stop coming. Yes, low prices seem to really control the flow of customers, but more and more people are looking back into hardware stores locally and elsewhere just for the service they receive...one on one attention, a more personable experience. In this economy, people now more so than ever, want the most bang for their buck. Evolve or crash&burn, Home Depot. Simple as that.

    3. Oh my goodness, don't let the plants die!!! Obviously, the water shotage in New Mexico won't have an environmental inpact on people, so use thousands of gallons of water to save the few plants! What an over educated idiot! Worried about plants and not people...AGAIN OBVIOUSLY A DEMOCRAT!!! This is what people are spending their time worrying about...

We all have our views and opinions on what's right and what's wrong, but we must remain mindful that the person who does the "wrong" is the one who has be answer for their deed(s). I am not a Home Depot fan right now, but I am also not a fan of people who are so judgmental and close-minded that they can condemn a company for embracing a group of PEOPLE that deserve just as much respect and acknowledgment as YOU do. It's funny how the saying goes "only God can judge me", but a lot of Christians are the most judgmental people that I have ever encountered in my life. Judgment day will come, and if you believe in your heart that homosexuality is wrong, then let God deal with that and you deal with you, your life, and your family...how about that!

  10. Richard Kramer, From NY.
    My subject is Veterans Discrimination.
Home Depot Gives a 10% discount to Veterans. The only thing is you have to be Retired, Active Or service connected. I'm not any of those. I'm just a Vietnam Veteran who served 3 years active and 3 years inactive service. Who did not get wounded. I just don't see that if I was in the same Fox Hole with a guy and he gets wounded and I don't that he should get the 10% and not me. WHAT DO YOU THINK FELLOW VETS!!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I too am a Vietnam Veteran and recently encountered a denial of my 10%. Since I am not registered with the VA, for medical benefits, I don't have the coveted plastic ID card so I carry a copy of my discharge and DD214. In the past this has been sufficient and Lowe's continues to honor it. Three days ago, at the Abiline & Mississippi store in Aurora, Colorado the clerk declined to look at my DD214 stating that I had to have an active military ID. Yes, this is discrimination - if I file for VA benefits and get the ID card they will give me the 10%. Needless to say, if I can get what I need at Lowe's that is where I will go.

      Delete
    2. I don't understand why your upset about not getting a discount? Are you mad at every retailer who doesn't give you money off products, just because you had a certain job at one point? The Home Depot spends millions of dollars each year, and it's employees organize huge projects for US vets. I don't understand your anger. I am a vet, I have seen and heard of several great doings by this companies people, with this companies money, all for us veterans. I don't think you have your facts right. If you have seen what I have you would not say these thing or have these thoughts about the Home Depot.

      Delete
    3. I'm confused. What are you talking about? According to what I read, they were specifically talking about the fact that they're military service was not honored with a 10% disct like it is for others. How can they not have their facts right if these are situations that ACTUALLY happened to them? Regardless of what other activities HD may partake in to honor vets, they should have a more objective and fair method for identifying and honoring vets with a 10% disct...obviously their competitor (Lowers) does. I think it was moreso the principle of the situation for these people than anything else...I guess you missed that.

      Delete
    4. I have a VA card and can get the military discount at Lowes but not at Home Depot. At Home Depot the VA card is required to have "Service related, Active, or Retired" under the photo. Translated, the active, retired or service connected wounded get the discount. The rest of us go to Lowes and get it.

  11. We have several complaints about a Home Depot in Redmond Oregon, we have purchased over $10,000.00 worth of merchandise in several days. You would think in the times of our economy they would be happy. First complaint, the material was not put in our name that we purchased it but a Home Depot employee, did not find that out until we tried to get material installed and they said we never purchased anything from them. Happens to be that the person who put the material in their name is an employee of Home Depot and does remodeling contracting on the side. NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!! One of the items we purchased was an 800.00 door, it has a broken window, for some odd reason the installer did not see that it was broken, again the Home Depot employee. Have requested that these purchases be put in our names and we get copies, again this did not happen either. Spoke to a manager at the store and pretty much stated they had bent over backwards for us and our purchases and that it pretty much our problem now. Does Home Depot not back up their warranties or service? Also purchase 7,000.00 worth of carpet and padding, had a heck of time getting it installed, finally it was completed. BUT, the left over carpet and padding was taken by the installer they hired and we were pretty much told that it was not ours to have. We paid for it, so this means their installers or whomever get all left overs and can do installs within their own home or other homes and make a heck of a profit!!! Plus the Home Depot employee measured and over measured and there was enough to install another very large room, again, we do not have this as the installer took the leftovers, maybe the installers and the employees have something going on the side?? I'm just saying!! Of course we will not use these contractors ever again and hope no one else will either. Spent thousands of dollars and received the worst installation we and others have ever seen, except the carpet install seems to be fine at this time. One other item, not a complaint, I did deal with a person at this store named Kathleen, purchased 2,000.00 in blinds, the ordering and customer service with her was great, the installer was great also, did a great job. Not all of your employees are questionable. When there is good customer service I will let the company know, but if I have been used and treated poorly I let them know also. You have a few employees that I would never hire at any company ever, makes your company look pretty bad all the way around, of course I will never spend another dime at your company all my hard earned money will go to other retail establishments that care!!!!

  12. My husband and I bought a warranty on a LG refrig at Home Depot. Ice maker stopped working. Two days later we had a service call through Assurant. We received substandard service. Servicer simply turned the temperature up two degrees. He told my husband the next step is for us to empty refrig and freezer for 48 hours. Why would we pay for a warranty for this type of service? When we called back we were informed it will be 12 days before anyone can come back and look at the ice maker. Again, this is substandard service. Very bad service. Susan

  14. My father visited your new store located in Trumbull CT. When he got to the counter and asked for the military discount he was told "we don't do that anymore" by your cashier. I know for a fact you do because I was at the same store the night before with my husband and we received the discount. You cashier was told the same thing by my father to which she replied "no they didn't". He was so upset he left his entire order at the register and told her to keep the order he would not be returning to that store again. Unfortunately he did not get her name but I’m sure the store will remember the large order or lumber and such that was left at the register. My parents are renovating there kitchen. Is this how Home Depot treats the Veterans of the US Armed Forces? The actions of your cashier were absolutely atrocious. I would like a full copy of your Military Service Discount Program. I she was unaware of the program or unsure she should have asked for help but to blatantly lie and then call my father a liar is disgraceful and completely uncalled for. Please let me know how Home Depot plans on addressing the disrespectful actions of your employee.

  16. My family owns a developemt/construction company in Alaska. After years of spending outrageous sums of money on home depot materials, the company is refusing to warranty the shingles they personally delivered to us. Not only are the shingles within only a fraction of the warranty period, but they were actually the high end architectural brand. They were of such poor quality products that after a couple years on the roof, the tar and film beneath them didn't even melt to secure them in place; some wind that wasn't close to as quick as stated on the warranty and they blew right off out large 3500-4000 square foot homes.

Now, I have been in debate with not only the pro desk and warranty department, but also the regional manager. By the way the regional manager was such a nice guy that he was trying to kick me out of the store. I provided endless photos of areas blown off our roofs, provided shingles that showned their poor quality, and the regional manager even drove with me to the properties to see what had happened. After all that, and providing not only the purchase receipts, but also the delivery receipt that showed home depot personally delivered their products, he tried telling me they never had those products and that I somehow bought thousands of dollars of shingles from a garage sale (so why do i have all those receipts?).

Our development/construction companies will be doing roughly 10 to 20 times the amount of business this year and the following years, however unless this changes and I am taken care of I no longer plan to buy their products. We have been extremely disrespected through this process and unless this changes I have no desire to further our cooperation with working with Home Depot.

If you know who I can contact past the pro desk, warranty department, and regional manager, then please forward me the information.

I actually have a good review! I bought a shower door from Home Depot. It was a Sterling Kohler. EZ find A1. When I started to install it, I realized the bottom track was missing. I called my local store and explained the problem. They said that I didn't have to pack up the whole assembly and return it.They told me to come back to the store and show my receipt and they would give me the part from another box. So, I did and now my shower door is complete. I know sometimes shit happens. But, I felt like it was dealt with properly. Kudos to Oakwood Plaza Home Depot Hollywood, FL.

Poorly managed and when there is a problem, forget getting company policy. It changes and they are told "to deal with it". Profits alone is their game and employees are disposable entities.

  23. Home Depot is such a joke. I was recently told to leave a store from the manager because I asked to speak to him in regards to a problem with customer service and respect to the customers. He told me to get out and I wasn't able to purchase my supplies for my renovation project. Thought if I spoke to a manager he would help but he just threw me out. I guess Home Depot dosen't want my buisness or the future buisness of friends and family who own contracting buisnesse's. So I will make it a point to tell everyone I know to Boycott this store until it goes out of buisness. trust me Home Depot is only in buisness for one reason, "their customers"!!! trust me when I get done nobody will shop at this store. I will go to the press, the local papers, whatever I need to do to let everyone know how Home Depot discriminated against me and what kind of buisness they really are. Everyone I know from now on will shop at LOWES

One example is the 3/8 in. plywood at Lowes is $22.00 per sheet. The price at Home Depot for the same boards is $14.95. I had to purchase 20 of them. Do the math.

I think it is sad when a Manager makes a snap judgement on a person that is interviewing for a job, and then decides not to give them a job because of that snap judgement, especially when that person can do the job. They would rather hire a person that has no job experience than give a job to someone that has 7 years of Customer Service expeirence.

  31. Shame on you Home Depot for contributing to the gay agenda. Also shame on you for flip-floping with vetrans. one day a vetran can get the discount, the next no, and then maybe yes the next time. If it wasn't for our vets you might not have the abbility to be in business.

  32. my husband & i chose a wood floor sample and talked with the flooring manager re. a possible discount, as we had purchased thousands of $$ on other remodeling projects. he explained he could not give us a discount. ok, fine. we understand. frank went on to tell the sales person on the floor to explain the install special they had going on. that would be the only way he could help us save $$. so, preston takes us to a desk and offers us the $397.00 install special- do one room @ that price and the rest of the rooms are free. sounds like a great deal,so we go for it & tell him to place the order. they send out a guy to do the measuring and someone from michigan calls the next day with a price of over double the estimated cost. we go into our local H D the next day to talk with the store manager. steve explains they made a mistake. that special install offer is for laminate only. we tell him it was the flooring dept. manager who offered us the deal. it is not our fault that he made a mistake. you would think a manager would know what he was talking about, or so we thought. 3 weeks later i am still washing dishes in the bathroom sink, as we still have not resolved anything. my kitchen is still on hold and we are running out of patience. we also have been dealing with cassandra from headquarters in atlanta. everytime we talk with her, she has to talk with another manager! IS THERE ANYBODY IN THE HOME DEPOT CORP. WHO CAN MADE A DECISION? if i did business like this i would not stay in business. we are willing to pay the cost for all materials, but home depot should honor their direct quote, which we have in black and white, for the $397.00 install price. also, my husband is a viet nam veteran who does get a 10% discount and we stand firmly with ALL veterans and believe ALL should get the discount, wounded or not. the discount is to say thank you for serving our country. not, thank you for being wounded. our local home depot is in new port richey, fl. if you are reading this home depot, give us an answer!!!

  33. Home Depot headquarters is in Atlanta, Georgia. I am offended that Georgia murdered Troy Davis when there was some doubt of his guilt. I have decided that I will not buy any items from Home Depot until they have made obvious efforts to rebuke the government in Georgia. There is always my local Ace Hardware that gives me a 10% discount on the basis of my asking for the discount. And there is Sam's Club and Loews's where I can buy the same items that are carried by Home Depot.

  34. YES, IS ABSOLUTLY RIGHT THAT HOME DEPOT SELLS USED AND BROKEN ITEMS THAT CUSTOMERS RETURN. THEY PUT THIS ITEMS BACK IN STOCK OR IN THE SHELVES, AND WHEN YOU GET HOME AFTER THE PURCHASES, YOU REALICE THAT IT WAS OPEN,USED, MISSING ACCESORIES, MANUALS,ETC, ETC. BOTTOM LINE, YOU GOT TO PUT EVERYTHING BACK IN THE BOX, WAIST GAS,TIME, FRUSTRATIONS,AND TAKE WHATEVER YOU HAD PURCHASE BACK TO THE STORE, AND START ALL OVER AGAIN. WHEN YOU TELL THE EMPLOYEE ON WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU, THEY LOOK AT YOUR FACE AND WHILE THEY CHEWING THE GUM,THEY GOT ONLY ONE THING TO SAY," I'M SO SORRY". MANAGERS ARE NOT MUCH BETTER IN THEIR EXCUSES. SO I THINK IS TIME TO CHANGE DEPARTAMENT STORES, AND GO FOR LOWE'S.

I don't know who was worse; the little jerk in so-called customer service or his so-called supervisor. NASTY PEOPLE!!!! I reported all this to Home Depot Corporate Office with NO RESULTS. I was told that they have had many, many, may complaints since Citi-Bank bought out the Home Depot Credit Cards. YET...HOME DEPOT DOES NOTHING FOR THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS. I went to the acting CEO of Citi-Bank who had someone contact me. I guess she doesn't like my attitude and what I have to day, because NOW she won't answer any of my E-Mails. I am only looking for a job,I am an honest man trying to make a living and can be nothing more than an asset to this company. 43. What made Home Depot so successful in the first place was that they almost always kept things in stock, and they used very knowledgable
people to serve the customer. Over the years they have replaced the helpful workers with fewer and less informed people, bringing down the quality of their service. They also have let their inventories drop to a level that even a home owner can't get enough small items in plumbing or electrical to finish a task in their house. I have asked managers several times to open a register line with a person, only to be told no. The express check out always has problems and a need for a person to resolve them, why not just have a cashier. The final straw for me was to use ones credit report to establish a card limit or close an account all together. In these times there will be changes in peoples credit, but if a payment has never been late or missed there should be no reason to just close one's account. They can blame it on giving their credit card business to Citi Bank, but all the things mentioned were to to increase bottom line and not serve the customer. Seems they were a lot more successful years ago in how they serviced people and profits.

I recently purchased carpet at the store in WEST VALLEY UTAH.I was told i was in luck it was in stock and it would take 7-10 days after it was measured, told to me by Marcia. After measuring I waited the 10 days then contacted the store. I was told by the carpet expeditor KELLY my carpet was not in,was not stock, and it would not be able to be in before Dec.2,2011. I was going to cancel but told i would have to pay restock fee of $140.00.I was told by Kelly that when my carpet was in (2 days) she would expidite it and it would be right in. After waiting for 2 days I called to see progress and was treated with the most deplorible service I have ever seen.I was talked down to,actually told I had done this process before I knew the drill. I contacted a mgr. who was also talked down to by Kelly. To make a long story short I ended up canceling the carpet, got the restock fee waived BUT then all of a sudden they were calling me!!!!OH MY CARPET WAS IN and could be done by the 16th od Dec.I was also told I had another option of getting carpet that was in the warehouse and was quarenteed to be put in within 3 days, so I asked they have my carpet just as they have the 72 hour carpet so why was I having to wait when I could have one of those spots. They refused to call and see. This was the end of this for me.I am a carpenter/handyman so i spend quite a bit at this store. It will happen no longer. I will be going to LOWES and I encourage everyone not to use this store.

I recently tried to return an empty water bottle, like I have been doing for the past 2 years and was told that the return was being denied because I didn`t have a receipt(which by the way was never required before)I purchase at least 2 bottles of water a month and always return the empty the same way(no receipt)The customer rep. that Asst. Manager Mark Nappi, spoke with said I had had exceeded the amount of returns the company allows without a receipt and that they (Corporate), has a new policy instructing that only receipted items can get a refund. Mark did all he could to explain that I only return water bottles for new bottles and the Rep.,looking at her records, could see that all of my returns were for $10. This is the deposit amount required when you purchase water. The Rep. would only quote the new policy saying there was nothing she could do about it. If you plan on selling water with deposits on the bottle return you better change the method for listing it because IT WILL LOSE YOU CUSTOMERS because of a corporate snafu in returning bottles for refilled ones.

Last time was this christmas eve, this is New Years eve still not working or repaired. I called Home Office today to complain, they told me there was nothing they could do. It was in the hands of Warrtanty people (every time I call I get people in Manila, Ha, Ha)whom I assume Home Depot picked to cover the warranties. Everytime you call you have to wait a least a week, I will be waiting more then that. I told them today I will never buy anything from Home Depot again, I spent a lot of money recently, they don't seem to be the least bit interested in helping their customers. Last year I had a problem with Lowe's I called their Corporate Office spoke with a Regional Manager for the east coast, (not a person from Home Depot who kept on putting me on hold, because she couldn't make any decisions)and got my problem resolved immediately and was told they were sorry for any inconvenice I had. BOO to Home Depot. I will shop in Lowe's from now on.

As I was shopping at Homedepot in Snohomish WA #4745, I had a COPD attack. Ken, an employee, asked me if there was something that I needed help with. I explained that I was not doing well and if there was a place that I could go to. Ken stayed with me as we went to the demonstration room. He again asked if there was something that he could do. My reply "911."
He called immediatly and also contacted the store management. Angela and Lyla came to help. As it turned out, I was taken to the hospital and stayed overnight.
Before they put me in the ambulance..I asked about my truck in the parking lot. Angela and Lyla did not hesitate to volunteer to take my truck home for me. I handed my keys to them and away I went. Upon returning home, not only was my truck home, the items that I had in my cart was delivered also. Not only did they go out of there way to help me but called me afew days later and asked how I was doing. Words cannot express how GREATFUL I am to these employees and management. For all my home needs, I will not shop anywhere else for they do take care of ALL your needs.

  59. Can you talk to the Home Depot RDC in Topeka, KS? All drivers are constantly waiting for hours on end to get their paperwork for loads that need to be delivered promptly - loads are getting cancelled for one reason or another, and the paperwork is consistently getting out late. Speaking of late, the Home Depot RDC in Topeka, KS needs to get rid of those 'static delivery times'. The stores that all drivers deliver to in that delivery region are sick and tired of getting loads later & later in the day. Move the delivery windows back to where they were, please; and make sure the delivery drivers from Knight, US Express, & the contact drivers from Schneider National Carriers get their loads out on time. Each and every day, for the last two weeks, the Home Depot RDC in Topeka, KS has loads & load paperwork ready, but will not walk it up to the dispatch office until they have seveal loads to take. This puts undue pressure on not only the Schneider/dispatch office, but to their drivers as well. Keep in mind, that the driver's DOT time is running while they in the RDC are not. They needs to be more expedient in getting the load paperwork out to the dispatch office. Can you talk to them please? Thank You

  60. Dear Sir or Madam
My husband and I are renovating a bathroom in our home. We first ordered a door #1 had to take off work to have the doorway measured, then waited about 3 weeks and #2 the door arrived damaged, another day off from work #3 the next day off from work door delivered wrong size finally #4 day off from work the door was delivered and installed. the manager apologised for the days lost from work and the long wait and all the other problems involved and promised compensation(compensation never done)

today we embarked on our second and last attempt with homedepot. we went to the Largo,Fl store and tried our best to order a new sink, vanity and light for wall over the sink. We had cash in our pocket and found what we wanted. three of your employees in that department, one who told us he was the assist mgr (Ed and Matt)and another woman who I dont recall her name. They were rude, tried thier best not to be helpful. After spending about 1 1/2--2 hours , being left while they helped other customers, took several long personal phone calls , they put so many obstacles in the way of our ordering we just went home.
When we got home,my husband called the store and asked to speak to the store manager/ he spoke to Joe Lombardi and lodged complaint about today and also the door and never being compensated. Joe said he found no record of the promise and didnt seem to be concerned at all about our plight. Even a simple thing like having the vanity set delivered free we only live a few miles away. I dont know what happened to this store, we have been customers for many years and service used to be excellent.

  61. I used Home Depot to replace my house roof in Columbia, SC. The price was just a little more than other local companies. The work was outstanding and perfect, and I got a 10 year warranty on the roof and labor. Late last year, the roof developed a few leaks in different rooms after a major storm that destroyed many trees and damaged homes around me. I called Home Depot, got someone on the phone immediately with no waiting, and within three days someone came out to examine the situation. There was no question from them about warranty, they immediately said the roof was still under warranty even though it was installed 9 yeas ago. After looking at the roof and type of leaks inside the house (very small and in several rooms) the Home Depot representative advised it was most likely due to the rain going through the ridge vents due to the 60 MPH winds and rain. He said for me to patch the areas and let them know if it leaked again. It has not leaked even through several heavy rains and long rain periods. He was right about the roof. I even got a follow up phone call to make sure I was pleased. My neighbors have had their roofs done by other contractors and all have had to do repairs to them (one three times in three years) after a couple of years. I am very pleased with Home Depot and I will use them again for remodeling or repairs to my house.
I know some people may have had bad experiences, but that is simply not the case with me.
Thanks Home Depot for the outstanding service.
    A+ in my book

  62. Not the same company when Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank were in charge. They were so keen on customer service and taking care of customers Hechingers was put out of business. Now they have become worse than Hechingers was with a total disrespect for the consumers. Different people now who love/worhip money first and hide behind past glory of the company. They are able to continue to open stores because of the size of the company. It is a machine that runs, although not so smoothly. The bad publicity has not affect their bottom line and the company is board run not honest person run. When was the last time their stock split...in the 90's that was happening like gain busters.

  65. I've been doing business with Home Depot for about twenty years now. As a new home builder and a retail customer here on Long Island, NY, I've usually been satisfied with the company and its' policies. Now however, things have really changed. The company has completely lost sight of the concept of customer relations and customer satisfaction. I make that statement based on the following factors: in the past, employees were knowledgeable, mature, polite, accommodating and plentiful throughout the stores. Sure not that way anymore. The company use to purchase and sell much higher quality products then the items sold today. Bad policy, buying lower quality products and selling at inflated prices just to please Wall St. and investors. They can't even keep the stores neat and clean anymore. The isles are like obstacle courses and the inventory is filthy dirty. I guess the only they can sell you the impulse junk from China, is by blocking your path of travel with it with. As to keeping the stores clean, not enough employees actually cleaning things and a lot of old (unsold) inventory sitting around collecting dust. Most employees I speak with are seeing the same rapid decline and know exactly what's going on. The company is cutting to the bone, in an attempt to keep Wall Street and the investors happy. Problem is, their losing customers in droves to their competition. Local hardware stores and lumber yards are providing customers with a better alternative to this declining giant. Just look at the parking lot of any Lowe's store, on any given day or evening and compare it to a nearby Home Depot parking lot. You'll see exactly what I mean. Over the years, I've seen many home improvement stores go under. Some even looked like they were doing very go on paper. However, the parking lot doesn't lie, it only reflects a sign of the times. By the way, I own some Home Depot Stock myself. So, I really hope someone at the corporate level starts using their head and puts the brakes on these "BAD" company policies!

I was only in the store for approximately 20 minutes, and during these 20 minutes I was approached by at least 9 employees, each one asked how I was and if I needed any help!! I felt as if I was being stalked!! I am able to ask for help, if & when I need it. I DO NOT like being followed around & bothered! It's one thing to be friendly, but this was more like "overkill".
After leaving Home Depot I visited Lowes.....I did not have anybody stalking me, there.

I was not carrying my ID Card and the attendant explained that I had 7 days to claim. Not so, when I returned 4 days after, the Assistant Mgr.refused to grant the Discount. The week of Feb. 13th I explained this to "Larry & Lissette" from Atlanta (Mgt?)-they were visiting the store. Larry said he was not aware of the 7 days and he would talk to the Store Mgr (Hector R.)and that somebody wil call me. Never happened. I have purchased over $20m in the past 14 mos. I will continue buying at HD, but I feel sorry that your mgt seems to believe that I do not deserve at least the promised call to show that you care. R.R.

That's fine, that's business, but then you masquarade as a supplier for general contractors. I was trying to put in an order of approx.$6, - $8,000 for 5 days, when friday came around, I told the sales person at the "PRO DESK" (WHAT A JOKE) that I wanted to come in Saturday to finalize the deal and was told that no one will be there till Monday. I'd love to hear what one of you Coraorate wives would say if their house was ripped apart and that they had to wait till Monday for me to order material. HARRIMAN, NY is the location where I tried to shop, never again, I'll travel a few miles and go to Dykes Lumber. Being a Contractor is not an office job. We do not have the luxury of staying home on Sat. & Sundays'. Wake up & smell the Coffee. There are several good sales people there, like Jim Paul, Frank Ball, Mark, & Dan in electrical, those are the calibur of people you should have at the pro desk.

I explained to them that each building will have 3 windows times 84 units. At $467 dollars per window, you do the math. The window and door dept. has no one there that has knowledge about ordering special windows. They did before. I was told that they had to let him go. I can't believe that they would fire some one without training someone else. The Pro desk guys can do so much. The are great and very) helpful but they are also so busy with at the counter. Mo, Misty, Dawn, Pat, Thank you, you guys rock at the pro desk.I sent the president and treasure of the assoication to Home depot to pay for all the windows. (84x3x$467)Do the math. They went to the pro desk but were very busy. They went to the windows and doors desk,no one was there. They were there for about 45mins. No one came by to help them. They did go back to the pro desk but they were very busy. So, they walked out. That put me in a bad spot and you guys just lost a sale. I have had to go else where to get windows and doors. There is no one at window and doors there that knows what to do. They should have a sign out there, Temp. out of order sign.

  77. I did my kitchen with HD in El Monte, CA (#6673) five years ago and everything went smoothly. When it was time for me to do my 2 bathrooms, I thought of having them do my bathrooms since they did a good job on my kitchen (except for my LG Refrigerator which I bought at the store). It was a nightmare. It took about 3 mos. to finish my 12x7 bathroom. The designer ordered different style cabinets, incomplete holes on tub deck, holes not big enough to fit bath faucets. In between these issues they would stop and it will take 4-6 working days before they come back to work and stress filled phone calls to the store and contractor. They moved on somewhere to their next project and they are just trying to fit me into their schedule----mind you, I paid for the installation and materials in advance.
On the last day, the silestone guy came an hour late to drill bigger holes on my tub deck. I called the contractor so they can start early. Apparently, I have to wait for them to finish rewiring their office before they can come to my house. They finished at almost 8:00 PM. When we were doing the walk thru I asked about my motion sensor occupancy switch which was not installed. The contractor told me that I will just get reimbursed for it. After 7 working days she called and told me that I will be reimbursed around $20.00. I know I paid more than that (4.72 points at $20.25 a point). She also said, If i want to have it installed, they will charge me extra for installing it. WHAT! They demolished my old bathroom last Nov.30 and finished Feb.22 and it's still not over. I am still battling them over my refund. The store (#6673) was suppose to call me back two days ago. Please, I want this resolved. "More saving, more doing. That's the power of Home Depot"... NOT!!!!

  78. I was very disappointed to find out that Home Depot altered its policy towards veterans. I understand that you will still give the 10% discount four days per year, and I'm thankful for that....but surprizingly Lowes honors vets 365 days per year. I know that your policy is that you'll honor any competitor's prices....you should reconsider your policy and step up to the plate as Lowe's has. I'd prefer to shop at Home Depot, but in these economic times 10% means alot to me. The Somersworth, N.H. store manager won't budge on this issue and claims he wants the policy to change but that the "higer-ups" have him over a barrel.

  80. Another upsetting visit to Home Depot in Sheboygan, WI. Dozens of people standing around, very friendly, smiling, greeting, asking "can I help you find anything?" My mental response is "probably not" but I ask for asphalt patch anyway. After 3 'helpers' all of whom state with a big smile that they know nothing about asphalt patch products, I am led around up and down aisles while we search for it together. I follow and follow. Concrete patch, but no asphalt patch...."it used toi be right here...I guess they moved it!" On and on we go searching until I wheel my cart to the door and leave...they may not have even noticed I left and are still searching for all I know. As I left I passed 3 more very friendly people who asked me "Can I help you find anything?" To which I silently said, "probably not." I would like to suggest that it be a mandatory part of employees days to walk the aisles and get familiar with your products.

I got a phone call that it was delayed which is not good, then when I called to store to check on this and tell them why this was not acceptable due to the fact that I am having contractors in for remodeling and this is disrupting the agreed upon dates and the original order was placed in plenty of said delivery date, the person I talk to was to call me right back and here it is three days later and still no return call. I have presented my VA id card and have received your generous 10% discount which I greatly appreciated, yesterday I was at the Home Depot in Honesdale Pa, purchased 3100.00 in windows and doors, I was told that you no longer accept the ID, that you and your corporate bean counters must have decided that if you hadn't been maimed, wounded, or didnot sacrify enough for you country you donot deserve the discount anymore. So if your policy has changed toward the military personnel, my policy will change toward your facilities and I will contact all the past veterans in the VFW and Post that I frequent and relate your bias policy toward veterans

  84. I'm writing this message because my review of a product on the Home Depot website was "rejected." I wrote the following regarding a Moderna Pedestal 24 in. W x 21 in. D Vanity in White With Granite Vanity Top in White:

    Completely unsatisfactory

I purchased this product in February specifically because the website indicated that the faucet "WAS INCLUDED." I received my shipment on March 13, 2012, without the faucet. I returned to the website to confirm that the faucet was included, which the website confirmed. Nine days later, today, I still have yet to receive the faucet. I called Home Depot to inquire, and guess what, the website now indicates that the faucet "is not included." What a coincidence. I was informed that nothing can be done without proof, and here I am, vanity set without a faucet. I only purchased this product because it was supposed to come with everything, vanity, sink and faucet. Significantly, some of the old reviews even indicate that the faucet was included. I noted this to the person on the phone, but she could not help me. I am definitely going to return this product, because without the faucet, which costs, $157 on its own, it's not worth having.

So, I received my rejection notice today by e-mail. The e-mail states that "Unfortunately, your review did not meet our guidelines for posting on our site for the following reason(s): Some type of content that did not conform to our guidelines."

So I read the guidelines, which state the following:

    1. Sign into your homedepot.com account. If you’re not a registered member, sign up now.

    2. Find a product you’d like to review and click on the “Write a Review” link.

    3. Rate the product with 1 to 5 stars (1 Star = Poor and 5 Stars = Excellent)

    4. Write your product review.

    5. Preview your review and submit.

Product reviews are intended to help fellow customers make informed buying decisions. When writing reviews:

Focus on the product features and your experience with them.

Provide details about why you like or dislike the product.

Because this is a public site, we read all reviews before posting them. Reviews containing any of the following types of content will not be posted:

Obscenities, discriminatory language or other language not suitable for public forums.

Advertisements, “spam” content or references to other products, offers or Web sites.

E-mail addresses, URLs, phone numbers, physical addresses or other forms of contact information.

Critical or spiteful comments on other reviews posted on the page or their author.

Unless I am missing something, how does my review fall outside of these guidelines? I am clearly focusing on my experience with this product, my dissatisfaction buying from the website, and if anything, shining light on false advertisement. Significantly, my product review is certainly helping fellow customers make informed buying decisions, such as, print out product description from website as evidence of everything the product is supposed to include. Unfortunately, that was my mistake. I am so completely appalled by how I was treated that it would be catastrophic for me not to post reviews of the HD everywhere. Clearly the Home Depot does not care at all about my concerns or any of their customers. Not to mention, my entire purchase totaled over $900. I will never purchase from here again.

This item is only available online according to what I was advised by cust service, there is no ship-to-store option, and a rep in my local HD store cannot request to have this item shipped to the store either b/c it's an online-only product. I am particulary upset about this b/c at this day in time ALL companies that have been around long enough to develop sound policies and procedures should have processes/workarounds implemented to accomodate customers; afterall, the customer is how the company makes money right? I just spent $1200 on a lawn mower from HD a couple weeks ago, and spent $200 in a local HD store today...now I'm expected to pay $105 total to have a $50 product shipped to my house b/c there are no other options. After today's experience and reading all of these reviews, I don't think I will be shopping at HD anymore...to Lowes I go.

  87. Why does The Home Depot Sales Associates recommend products that they have little or no knowledge about? They do not conduct any type of formal training, or for that matter, even have a real training program! So I don't understand how they can allow people to recommend products that they do not truly understand themselves. The Home Depot is garbage... The customer service is cheesy, the Home Depot website has no real presence and they are behind the times when it comes to utilizing different methodology such as Lean Six Sigma or the Kanban Systems for supply logistics. The people are not engaged and the corporate agenda only sees dollar signs. Success Sharing is a joke. You overwork and under pay your people year around, then after taxes they don't have anything left. You should give them a bonus, Success Sharing or not!

  89. Beware. The products that you buy in home depot are cheaply made and are not worth the low price that you pay for them. I bought a kitchen faucet there and it would not pass water. Apparently there was an orifice that had not been machined and there was no place for the water to exit. Bought a bathtub there and the finish was of such poor Quality that it has to be scrubbed every time it is used or it looks like hell. And that sink faucet, after one year the finish looked as if had been installed thirty years ago. I honestly believe that every corner on every product in there line has been cut in order to boost corp. profits. Everything that is purchased there will have to be replaced within five years witch is good for even more profits. Stay away.

I sent a lauditory review about the fan that I have in my house. A Hampton Bay fan. Everyone that I have spoken to in the H.D. stores, in the H.B. factory and on the phone at H.D. has been totally friendly and attempted to be helpful, but I sit here this evening with an unresolved problem and right now I'm a VERY unhappy consumer.

I've been trying to get a replacement part. I tried the factory in California. I tried at my local H.D. store in Stuart (Florida). "Oh Lady, YOU have to order the part" or the elcon people can do it for you is what I was repeatedly told.

Today the elcon man was here. Although I explained my problem and my need for the correct piece (a remote receiver) to him on the phone yesterday BEFORE he came here, (he assured me that he could fix my fan and indeed had the part in his truck), because I do not want to become my own general contractor. His final response and diagnosis, once in my home, was "I think I once installed a fan like this." He tried to call the California factory to check out how to do the repair job. He used MY ladder to examine the fan -- his apparently wasn't tall enough. OMG!!! OMG!!! Further, "They might not make this part anymore" and "The new part may not be compatable with what is in your fan" again, OMG!!! He left w/o doing anything. What is going on at Home Depot?
I was told again that I have to order the part. I should order the part when a so-called professional is flumoxed by the project?

Hopefully you can help me. I've searched the Internet and my universal remote is still sold. My remote receiver is broken. They can't be incompatable if the universal remote is still sold on the open market.

When I called California they weren't open yet. When they opened they were overwhelmed by the east coast calling them and I was told to call back about 3 o'clock to avoid a crowd. This is how business is done at Home Depot? How can I depend on someone, sight unseen, to order a part for my fan when the professional who saw my fan couldn't do the job? This is not my field of expertiese and I do not want to act as a general contractor!

PLEASE HELP Me fix my beautiful, very expensive fan.

When I ordered I was told someone would call to let me know when the delivery would take place so that I could arrange to be home. I have been checking the online status faithfully and was told the order is "being processed". I have called the customer service # several times, stayed on hold for over 20 minutes, and had to hang up. Today I stopped at home during my lunch break. There on my porch, blocking the front door, were the heavy security doors! I am a 64 year old female. I struggled to move the doors to get into the house. This is my first and last order from Home Depot online. Thanks for the crappy customer service. Kathy Gleason,Concord CA

  95. Well. it looks as if Home Depot is not very good and I agree. When I go to the store in ElCerrito Richmond CA if you need help you need to be a cowboy with a rope to catch some one to help you. When they see you coming they run away with their cell phone to their ear, yes that is what they do most of the time there talk on the cell phone.

I was trying to fine 3 or 4 good 4 by 4s today this is the worst place to look for lumber they are stacked and the 4by4s were on the bottom run and four (4ft) back I was on my knees trying to find one that was good or even half way good. I was not able to move any of the lumber and the ones I could see were the worst. This was the $17.00 t0 18.00 per 4by4 8 feet long. I wish a better store would open up here I would be the fisrt one in the door. I can not understand how they have been around since 1978. They DO NOT CARE about the people that come there to buy things. There needs to be a national do not shop at Home Depot. 96. I have 7 kids I am trying to raise!!! I was in a serious car accident in 2010 and was unable to work until jusr recently. I am a Home Depot fan always have been. So you can imagine my excitement when the opportunity came up to work as an installer for one of your many istallation companies. I was proud to tell my wife and kids I was going to install for the Home Depot. I am a skilled tradesmen with 16 years experience in my trade. 16 years!!! Customer service is my top priority. I am well respected in my trade by both my customers and fellow tradesmen. I have no idea how you allow second rate companies like the installation company that I worked for do anything for you. They are thieves and hacks. They are pimping out our skills at cut throat rates that don't equal a first year apprentice wage. I have no idea if Home Depot has even a clue what this company pays the installers that go into your house but its nothing compared to what you are paying them. We are your clean up crew guys. We walk into your customers homes. We are the ones who cause a customer to say "WOW!!" We bring customers back to you for the next install. If everyone could do my job I would not have a job. I served a 4 year apprenticeship and gave another 12 years of field service. This makes me a professional with the ability to tell you what my skill is worth. I know this makes no difference to Home Depot they see us as a dime a dozen. I am here to tell you though your installers are a dime a dozen and I personally am embarrassed that I ever installed anything for Home Depot. My suggestion to Home Depot is this, hire local tradesmen pay them what they are worth and you wont have to threaten them over tens. You will automatically get them. Your customers deserve the best.

  97. I bought $1700 worth of cabinets at the clifton nj home depot(STOCK American Classics)not couting another 2K on electrical and plumbing supplies on 2 other seperate credit cards. 2 cabinets were damaged so I called home depot and gave the rep the SKUs and asked if they had them in stock. Only on hold for 2 min a rep in kitchen and bath said "No we dont have them in stock",. I asked if they can check another store and right away he said no other stores have them. He expected me to be satisfied with that answer. Then I said "What can I do" and he said I can order them for you. I agreed to have them ordered.

Not even 24 hours after that phone call I went to home depot to get some other items I needed and figured Id check the cabinet section and right in front of me were 3 of each of the 2 cabinets I needed. I went to another rep in kitchens and without telling the story I asked if he had these 2 cabinets in stock and right away he said oh no we dont have them. I walked him over and showed him that in fact you do have 3 of each and he said "OH". So i told him I am going to bring back my damanged and return them for the undamaged cabinets. He told me to go to the front desk. After going there I expressed I dont want any problems when returning the cabinets because I have to borrow a truck to return them and pick them up. She said there will be no problem.

45 min I was back and there was a problem. She said we ordered these cabinets for you and they arent in yet and I said "You have 3 of each in stock". After an hour she finally returned the 2 I had for the 2 undamaged ones. Not over yet. I find on my statment that they gave me the credit for the cabinets and charged me 2 times for the cabinets I exchanged them for. I went back yesterday and explained and again she took that charge off. I look at my online recent activity and yet again they charged me again. What should have been a simple exchange turned into 2 credits and 3 charges. SO I am being charged one extra time for these cabinets and NO ONE seems to want to help me. I dont know where to go because NO ONE there has the time to hear my story.

  99. I live in Maine and am a Disabled American Veteran. Home depot gave a 10% discount to Veterans. I am now informed that they no longer will allow this credit UNLESS I have a 10% coupon good for one time with an expiration date. Home Depot has Basically taken away the Veterans Discount in Maine. Fortunately, Lowes, still gives and respects the Veterans of this country and continue to give the 10% discount every day every time NO COUPONS needed. I was informed that Maine is a test program so it will be coming to a store near you SOON. Shame on you Home Depot. I urge all you Vets retired and active to shop at Lowes where you are still appreciated for your service.

  100. To Home Depot Management: Throughout my 20 years association with your company, I likewise have had good and poor service. Ben disappointed several times but have eventually worked out the issues. Today I want to give kudos to your employee named Jeremy working the parking lot at your Home Depot off Madison Ave and Manzenita Ave in Carmichael, Calif. On more than six occasions within the past two months, Jeremy has seen my wife and I loading goods into our car and excitedly came to help us. eventhough I told him it was fine, he insisted on lifting the 40 to 50 lb bags of manure and garden soil; and building materials. He is an absolutely GREAT credit to your organization and so pleasant that my wife and I do look forward to our trips to your store. Although I am 65 yrs old and my wife 60, Jeremy does not just lavish his attention on older shoppers; I see him helping anybody loading their cars or trucks in the parking lot. Whatever you are paying him, it's not enough. What a GREAT ambassador he makes for your store. I say to you to consider him for management. He certainly has the right attitude for greater contributions to your corporate culture. James Vigent of Sacramento, Calif

  101. I have been going to home depot for several years now here in clinton ms. I have just realized that there is not one single person there that can make a intelligent decision. After being blessed enough to open yet a second company I have found that home depot does not need nor want my little two to three thousand dollars a week.See they let telachecck decide who gets to buy from them .Ihave had two checks denied because of telacheck in two days in a row even after I was promised the first day that it would not happen again but guess what it did.I have never had a returned check in my life and dont plan on starting now but thats not the real issue here.Iwas told its not because of returned checks or the amount of checks that are written or even the amount of money in the account they just tell me that I dont fit there criteria at this time so they decline my check. The young lady that I call last told me she understood but it could and would continue to happen but all I had to do is put my material to the side and call them while Im at the store so they can call me on my company phone and verify that I am who I am and they would let the check go thruogh.Well I cant speak for anyone eles but I have emploies waiting on me so I cant just hang out and wait on telacheck. So Italk to the manager of the store and he says there is nothing he can do and that I should open a credit card account well that really pissed me of because we pay as we go thats why both of my companies are dedt free not everyone lives on credit and credit cards and I didnt see that as a fix .So Icall the customer complaint department and tell me the understand but I was going to have to call telacheck and see if Icould get this fixed.Well geuss what to hell with home depot they are the ones losing my business from both companies as well as the two companies that I have interest in so u would think they would grow a pair and find out therselve why telacheck is running of customers insteaed of asking the customer to do ther damn job for theem .Lowes,Ace Hardware,84Lumber Prassles do not have a problem taking my company checks at all .My business is going very well I hate I can no loner go to home depotbecause they are less than two min. from my office but I cant do busniess with someone who already has to much and doesnt care about its customers enough to find out for there selfs whats going on

  103. My husband has been working with the company for 10+ years and when he called the benefits choice center to seek for help in enrolling his wife in receiving health benefits they told him NO twice because he will have to wait for open enrollment or if he has a life changing event, isn't pregnancy a life changing event? we can't get state help due to the income limit restraints nor can we afford individual insurance on our own. They say that their core values is taking care of their people this company is far from that. its unfortunate that this company takes advantage of their people, and don't put into consideration the time spent in this company to help make it profitable and in return we get nothing out of it, When you try to make the right decision for your family the managers store managers, district manager and above makes you feel guilty about it.

I just want say that store #6529 is the place to go if you're an Identity thief. they accept expired Id's no questions asked, it really is an easy place to buy anything with stolen forged checks. especially one person's expired ID number with another person's signature. How easy can that be when a thief makes a boo-boo like that and nobody questioned it?

  105. MOTO

It is said we need to have accuracy in the “times” we apply to our bays. It is said that our total “MOTO Time” at the end of the day, should equal a full day’s work. However, if we accurately input the “time” worked in every bay, we work. Our “MOTO Time” will never equal a full days worth of work. So, the only way to end up with a full days worth of work, in “MOTO Time”, is to be very INACCURATE with are “times”, artificially inflate our “times”, adding and apply non-bay work “time” as if it was bay work “time”.

For example, to equal a full days worth of work we must add in customer service “time” as if it was bay work “time”, we must add in the “time” it takes to clear the area so a forklift can be used as if it was bay work “time”, we must add in the “time” it takes to find or wait for tools like the First Phone as if it was bay work “time”, Although small the “time” it takes to transition from one bay to the next adds up, and of course must be added as bay work “time” even though this “time” is not bay work “time” of any kind.

To make the “MOTO System” work we must add in all of this non-bay work “time” as if it was bay work “time” to equal a full day of work. Therefore, in order for the “MOTO System” to work we must be very INACCURATE with our “MOTO Times” and artificially inflate our “MOTO” work “times” so that we will have a full days worth of work accounted for. Accuracy, I think not, far from it.

This of course means, that the corporate hire-ups are basing there decisions on inaccurate and skewed data/information, that we are forced to provide because the “MOTO System” is faulty (Bad Information In, Equals Bad Information Out).

This then translates into impossible and unrealistic goals, and objectives that can never be reached, because the original data/information that was supplied, is faulty to begin with. These errors will compound on one another and will affect all levels management in there planning and implementation processes leading to a displeasing end.

  106. To who might concern,
I am very disappointed by the lack of professionalism of the management of the Home Depot in New Rochelle. Last Friday I went to the store to order 4 patio doors the person in the door department was absent so somebody from management named Clyde came to help me. After a good hour we had finally picked the doors but he could not print the proposal due to what he said were technical difficulties. He promised to send it by e-mail that evening. The proposal never came. I called on Saturday and subsequently on Monday. Clyde was nowhere to be fund and after leaving messages with my information I never received a call back or any e-mails. Last night finally somebody called me to tell me that the sale had expired but if I wanted I could have gone down to the store to order the doors. It is clear that your personnel have no interest in helping clients I can understand the lack of interest from the part of a low level employee but I was not expecting it from management.

  107. It is often that you see complaints on these types of sites, but I would like to comment about a wonderful experience that I had yesterday at the Gurnee, IL Home Depot store #1922. AFter running some errands with my 16 month old, one including a stop at the bank to withdraw $200 cash. After the bank I stopeed at Home Depot to pick up some gardnening supplies. I got home and went to pull out the envelope from the bank that had the $200 in it and it was gone. I searched everywhere in my car and it was nowhere to be found. I realized that my daughter was trying to get into my purse and I was certain she must have pulled it out and dropped the envelope at Home Depot. I called the store and spoke to 2 different women, but no one had turned in the envelope. I then decided that I should still run to the store and retrace my steps, perhaps it was still somewhere on the floor. At this point I was very doubtful that I would find the money. I was certain that someone had found it and kept it. I retraced my steps and was ready to leave the store when I noticed a store employee near the customer service desk, we made eye contact and as I'm walking out the door, something told me to turn around and go ask him if anyone had turned in the envelope. As I began to tell him my story he begins to smirk and then asks me how much was in the envelope, at which point I thought he would just feel sorry for me when I told him that I lost $200. After I describe the envelope and the amount and type of bills, he tells me the money is safe, he found it and put it in the HOme Depot safe. I actually had a few tears. To come across an honest person such as him is amazing, most people today would have found the envelope and kept the money in it. HOME DEPOT....i am certain that if you had more employees like Phillip from the Home Depot in Gurnee, IL , you would have hundreds of positive posts on this site!!! Phillip from Gurnee, God Bless You, I hope good Karma comes your way!!

  108. I have a Cub Cadet Zero Turn riding lawn mower. I purchased the extended warranty from Home Depot. But of course now that I need to use the warranty, it seems that it can't be fixed or under the warranty! They told me I had to write a letter to claims to get it approved to be fixed... I call all the numbers and get no where! No one will let me talk to the people that are making the decision on what they can fix! Needless to say I have a $3000 riding lawn mower that tears up my ground! Guess its time to take further actions legally.

I've been buying electrical products & building products from Home Depot for quite sometime for our homeowners and commercial customers. Most the products are pretty good. I haven't experience a lot of difficulties with their service or products except when they change to cheaper product vendors, sometimes the installation may take longer to install. As with any store you have to select the best quality products that will last, keeping your customers happy is the name of the game.

  110. Well, after reading all the negative comments I would like to add one more. Home Depot should be ashamed of their customer service status. I recently had to deal with the HD in Beaver Falls, PA. What a nightmare it has been...same deal...poor quality merchandise, no one that can make a sound decision. My daughter ordered a new kitchen counter. The counter was cut wrong with the backsplach being a foot too long and a small section of counter being cut too small. They were told that yo often have to "sand" down the back splash or cut it with a mitre saw. Needless to say, they are newly weds and a mitre saw was not a bridal gift nor was it on their registry. So after calling and visiting the store they have made a compromise...now I ask you after you lay out your money and pay to have their rep come an d measure, why should you compromise? You should get what you ordered. Not !!! They don't want to lose money to correct the problem so they expect the consumer to compromise. They just keep draggin it out hoping you will give u p. Well, Home Depot, hang on for the ride of a life time because I don't give up ! They are such a bunch of assholes and con artists...They will never see another dime from this family and we will do everything in our power to see friends and family to not support them.

  111. MAY 20, 2012: My adult daughter and I visited the Home Depot in Irving, Texas this afternoon with the intent of staying for several hours to possibly purchase tile and new counter tops for home projects. We were in the store for about 30 min looking around and walking. We had already looked at time and counter tops but were awaiting the professional help desk when we walked over to the paint area. IT WAS SO HOT IN THE BLDG the perspiration was beginning to flow on my face and we had no choice but to leave it was so hot. My daughter was dresses in a sleeveless top and shorts and I was in a short sleeve top and cotton pants. I have never been in any HOME DEPOT where upon the temp was this hot. There must have been changes from the corporate office. I talked to a couple of my friends whose children work at home depot in the DFW metroplex and they said their children complain all the time about the heat. They said to remember it is a warehouse...really....i went to a furniture warehouse today and the temp was very nice. I would think Home depot would be interested in keeping customers in the store and to make their experience wonderful so they would stay longer and want to come back. Quit acting like a cheap business and think about your customer service!

I was treated very rotten by store at tilly mill and the managers Erick and Scott were down right rude and very un professional and ignored me after a month of run around!!! They all dropped the ball and even know I have them admitting to their shortcomings they only offered a silly $600 check and wrote me off>>>> Now I will not spend my 1/4 mill here nor will I let them treat me like trash. Im filling a law suit and I will win but it just tells you how much HD really cares!!!!!!!!!! They dont.....!!!!! so dont expect no resolution unless your willing to take action in a court of law!!! 113. Today whish is June 8th 2012, I went to Home depot in Belton Missouri to look into buying a humidifier. I saw one on line and needless to say, it was not in the store. So the store helper by the Name of Jennifer, asked if she could assist me. She took me over to the area where the humidifiers were and what I was looking for was not there. But she said follow me if you spotted it on line. She took me to the customer service desk, turned the computer screen so I could see it and helped me buy the dehumidifier on line, that would be delivered free of charge to my house. Jennifer was very patient, understanding, helpful and friendly. Not only does she. represent Home depot in Belton Missouri, but the Entire Home Depot Organization. I was even allowed to use my military discount. Thank you Jennifer and thank you home depot for all your support.

  114. I am getting the clear impression that there are employees at our HD that are not interested in doing business. Certainly not all of them, but one is too many.
I've been trying to get a Privacy fence installed. After three trips to discuss and negotiate, I finally get my call from what I was told would be the HD folks who would arrange to come by my house and show me what they had and what it would cost.
The call was from the installer, after-hours who told me he doesn't have access to the information that I gave the Contractor's desk in the store, and that they don't come to the house.
My only requirement was that the fence not have knot holes or splits. That the spacing be 6 foot rather than 8 foot, and that I preferred the panels mounted in the galvanized clips rather than on the face of the 4x4s. Without even discussing any cost to me, I was told that HD wouldn't do what I was asking. I wasn't looking for something that I wouldn't be paying for. Good way for HD to insure that they go out of business (by not taking the business from the customer 'at the door').

  119. Went to the Home Depot at 2 colma blvd in Colma California and was very disapointed in what I saw when I left the store. They had a very tattered american flag on the flag pole . I am not sure they know this is a huge sign of disrepect to our country and the people who fight for it . Heres some american flag etiquette for the novice
Please pay attention to number 5 on the list

1.Don’t dispose of the flag yourself. There are flag disposal services that will gladly take care of your flag respectfully for you, but you should never, ever throw away a flag.

2.That Old Navy t-shirt is a violation of the Flag Code. Everyone knows you aren’t supposed to wear an actual flag – but did you know those T-shirts Old Navy comes out with every Fourth of July are a violation of Flag Code, too? Flag boxers, flag ties, etc. are all violations - even if your clothes just have a picture of the flag, you’re really not supposed to use the flag as apparel.

3.Advertisements are a no-no. The American Flag is not supposed to be used in advertising of any kind.

4.Height matters. The American Flag should never be displayed beneath the flag of another country – everyone knows that! But did you know that in times of peace, it can’t be displayed above another country’s flag, either? They have to be at the same height. And if you display the flag of another country, the two have to be about the same size.

5.If it’s ripped, take it down. It’s extremely disrespectful to display a tattered or torn flag. Fold it up and send it to the flag disposal service I linked to above for just $5.

6.It’s not a decoration. If patriotic decorations are a must for your Memorial Day party, please, don’t use a real flag! The American Flag should only be hung from the Union side (the side with the stars on the blue field) or displayed flat against a wall. It should never decorate a table, speaker’s podium, or anything else.

7.Practice proper storage. In eighth grade, I was guardian of my school’s American Flag, so I can tell you from experience: it takes at least two people to properly fold a flag. Never take it down without help, because it’s also against the Flag Code for the American Flag to touch the ground.

8.If you display your flag after dark, light it. The American Flag should never be in the dark, so if you don’t want to take it down at sunset, invest in a spotlight.

9.And finally… Don’t be this guy. This is a Flag Code violation AND a fashion violation. Just don’t.

  120. I went to Home Depot in Phoenix, Arizona located on Cave Creek and Cactus today. I brought a tool from home and asked one of your employees if you had others in store just like it. I also asked what the name of the tool was. He took it out of my hands, proceeded to put it up to his ear and told me that "girls like me should wear tools for earrings or necklaces" and then laughed at me. I don't think I need to tell you how disgustingly and overtly sexist that is. I didn't catch the man's name, as I was so shocked I just wanted to make my purchase and leave as quickly as possible. I have already posted on Home Depot's Facebook page with this story, as well as mine. I plan to tell everyone I know how sexist and degrading my experience was. For the record, I am an artist. I sell my merchandise at a local store and purchase all materials for said art at Home Depot. I'm disappointed I have to find a new place to shop.

  126. Brian McLaughlin I bought a generator panel for my home that is hooked into the main electrical panel in the house, this is for plugging your generator into after a hurricane so that the generator sends power to this panel which in turn electrifies the circuits you tie it into in the main panel which eliminates the use of extension cords running everywhere which is quite dangerous and a general pain in the arss. It's a great device to have when it works correctly as your fridge is running and even the hot water tank so you can take a hot shower as well as general lighting and outlets in the areas you will need the most like the kitchen and entertainment center. So anyway the one had installed in my house burned up twice and had to have it repaired.the second time I had it removed from the house because it was a fire hazard and just a piece of crap that I paid $250.00 for the unit and $200.00 for the install. This has been going on for over 2 years to get this taken care of.So I finally reached the end of my rope and demanded I get either a new one by another manufacturer or my money back.Basically they told me to go f myself, and I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at home dopey over the 20 years I've remodeled homes. So without a receipt or scew number they can't help me and we all know how well ink holds up on the fax paper they issue your receipt on and they don't have a scew # because they don't carry the piece of sh&* anymore....hmmm I wonder why.Sorry for the length of my post.I only ever used them for construction materials(2x4's, metal studs, drywall and so on as that is all they were ever good for..... oh and light bulbs) in the first place as I would never hire them to sub contract any type of finish materials as I would go to specialty suppliers for say tile, stone, or wood flooring and cabinets. No faucets no sinks no appliances. And now you know.....the rest of the story. Thanks guys, aren't you glad you asked?

  127. When it comes to socially controversial issues, it's best for corporations to remain neutral. Home Depot's public support for homosexuality is such an issue. Home Depot's flaunting of this support slaps the faces of many Christian customers who shop at the stores.

After numerous failed attempts to convince Home Depot it needs to remain neutral or alienate most of its customers, my family, friends, and acquaintances decided to no longer shop there.

  128. Just to let you know. I bought a carpet from you today 7/12/12 at 9:48PM store number 1222 and was over changed $12.62 (item $11.61 tax $1.01). Sales slip number 1222 09 62605 07/12/2012 8037. The cashier was Daniel DVV4548 and he was being supervised by a women. The carpet was priced at $7.65 then marked down to $5.66 then marked down to $4.99 per yard times 17.33 yards. The female supervisor insisted that the green tag be removed from the carpet. The cashier Daniel keyed in the price as $5.66 and not $4.99 per yard. I asked if I could have the green tag or a copy of the green tag. Cashier Daniel checked with the woman that was supervising him, and I was told, no you cannot have the green tag or a copy of the green tag. The price is $98.08, and not the $86.49 that was quoted by the sales person that help me pick out the carpet and loaded it on the cart. I think the mix up (or bait and switch) was the tag was under a clear rapping and the $4.99 per yard was written on top of the clear rapping, when the green tag was ripped out from under the clear rapping the $4.99 was not on the tag. As I do not have the green tag or a copy of the green tag or the clear rapping, I can only let you know.
    Thank you Joe

I personally know people employed by HD and will never work for them again,. Also the common complaint is geared towards their customers and the poor service rendered so why doesnt BBB do domething about this? What we need is a NEW line of Home Improvement stores because Menards and Lowes are no better for service. We walked down the isles of the store and for a minute there was no one around to help us, just as we started to comment on this, a man appeared out of nowhere and asked if he could help, he looked as if he was just comming in to work because he had his home depot shirt in his hand. We told him what we where looking for and he told us which isle to go to and that he would send someone over. Shortly afterwards a man named Ceasar came over he was the nicest most helpful person that I had every seen in any kind of store. Not only did he help us find what we where looking for but he helped us to roll it up, made us feel secure about it not breaking and went on to help us look for the little things that we needed such as hooks and zip ties. He made us feel like he knew us personally and us him. It felt like a breath of fresh air. Home depot to need to employ more people like these two gentelmen in that Orange Connecticutt store.

  131. I speng way too much time walking up and down those aisles of Home depot. They always get new and better tools than the ones I bought a couple mnths ago. I am a "new tool" fanatic i guess.

  132. Ordered a refrigerator, they said I should get a phone call when they would be delivering it... Received no phone call. They left the refrigerator in front of my door. No knock or anything. What kind of delivery service is that???? Called Home Depot and they said it is their standard delivery service. Home Depot needs to get it together and focus on the fools they hired. But then again it usually comes from the head of the company. So it's like the Blind leading the Blind.

  133. Home Depot's website said 10% OFF with Free shipping on ALL APPLIANCES. Called to order a refrigerator and the operator said that is not an appliance. What the HECK you call it then?????

I bought a Rigid Generator from Home Depot A little over a year ago in June of 2011.I rarely used it for 8 months. Within the last 5 months of use it has broken on me twice. This GEnerator operates my Concession Trailer and I cannot operate without it. The first time it broke it took over 3 weeks. Within 1 week of me using it again it broke again. I took it back to the store and they had to send it back to Atlanta Ga. for repair.I live and purchased the equipment in Memphis Tn.To this day it has been 2 weeks and they have not even received it in the repair center. This has been a nightmare for customer service and store policy of repair and procedure. My only satisfaction at this point is a refund. I have exhausted all efforts to get satisfaction from the store management , Rigid customer service and even Home Depot Corporate Office. What more can I do?

  137. Dear Customer Service Manager:

I am compelled to write to you about the absolutely horrible service the we have been receiving while remodeling our bathroom.

When our workers opened the medicine cabinet box to install, there was no parts box. When we took it back (to the Beaver Falls, PA [Chippewa]), they didn’t have another to give us; I therefore had to travel to Pittsburgh (Ohio Twp.) to pick another one up there. (40 miles each way) The hole was already cut into my bathroom tile and I had workers at my home waiting.

Then I ordered a Kohler, Santa Rosa, Sandbar colored toilet from the Beaver Falls store. I was given a date it would be in. I called for over 10 days and no toilet. Finally, the last call I made, maybe two weeks later, I was told they don’t make a seat for that toilet, BUT, I was asked if I still wanted the toilet. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS? The Kohler website has the seat, Lowes had that seat, but Home Depot sells the toilet and says they DO NOT MAKE A SEAT. Why wouldn’t they go to Kohler and order my toilet seat to keep a $400.00 purchase? This is unbelievable.

Next, I went to the Pittsburgh (Ohio Twp.) store to purchase a Kohler, Sandbar colored sink and granite counter top. I couldn’t get anyone to wait on me. I waited and waited. . . at least 25 minutes. No one came to help me. Quite a few employees walking around though. I walked out.

I’ve since purchased the same toilet, WITH A SEAT, the sink and a large granite counter top from another company.

Today, I went to the Pittsburgh store to purchase my faucets for the bathroom, light switch plates and cleaning products. I stood in line for 25 minutes, with the two lines that were open stacking up behind me. The cashiers didn’t know what they were doing; questioning each other on how to do this and that. Home Depot workers were standing around and watching. The women in front of me, was applying for a Home Depot Credit Card on the tiny device you use to swipe your card. This was taking forever. This should be taken care of at the Service Desk. People are on their lunch break and have to get back to work. Finally, I said something, while everyone behind me was complaining. The cashier then called for assistance and took my purchases to another cash register. I made my way around all the people, three registers down and the cashier at the new register said “I can’t take care of you, I have no money in my register”. I WALKED OUT and told them I was going to Lowes.

I have been told by every contractor who has worked on my home not to use Home Depot. . . that they use Lowes if they have to use this type of store because of product and service.

I think you should know what horrible service your company, at least at these two stores, has given us and that you’ve lost a lot of business because of it. It’s time Corporate Home Depot starts making surprise visits to your stores and experience this FINE, FINE SERVICE for yourself.

    Sincerely,

    Karen

  138. After reading all the negative comments, I have many doubts if Home Depot has any concern for customer service. On Sunday, about 3:15 p.m. I entered Home Depot Westminster, CA to purchase a sink and faucet. I had been in front of the faucets about 2 minutes when I was pushed aside by two "stock boys" wanting to put something overhead. I moved down to where I could still see the faucets barely and continued to try to look at them. The "stock boys" then decided they hadn't closed off enough area, so they pushed me away from the sinks and faucets altogether. I guess getting the object on the upper shelf was more important that taking care of a paying customer.

I left the store and immediately went to Lowe's where I got excellent service and purchased the items needed.

I usually go to Home Depot at last once a week. My trips will now be to Lowe's.

  139. I went to Home Depot in Los Lunas, New Mexico yesterday looking for 4 bathroom faucets. I am trying to help our economy and will only buy MADE IN AMERICA. The store had NO faucets made in America. WTF? Really? You are no better than Walmart!

I went to the Saint Cloud (Florida) store to buy some paint to paint my bathroom, the persons behind the counter acted like they were doing me a favor by talking to me, I was going to buy paint starting with my bathroom and buy more paint to paint 7 rooms (2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a dinning room, and a living room, also 2 screened in pourches. I will now go to a different store and get my paint, which will include paint brushes, paint trays and enough plastic cover to cover my furniture. I know that Lowe's will not act like they are doing me a favor by allowing me to buy my paint and other items from them.

Recentley I purchased a fire pit from Home Depot in Reading, MA . I asked a associate for assistance and had told him we recently put up a $25,000 trex deck. I asked if they had a pad that would protect the deck from any heat damage .They directed me to a concrete pad that was more expensive then the fire pit, but i trusted his suggestion, in this case i wish i didnt. HE assured me it would be sufficient for the trex not to be damged . A month later when I was cleaning the pad I noticed discoloration and warping. I immiedietly went back to the store and brought a picture of all the damages with the reciet and told the manager what had happened. A week later the claims department called me and asked who sold me the pad. I didnt recall the name but did discribe the associate and told her that I was told it would be safe ane told her what eactly happend. A week later I got a call back saying no one had addmited (obviously) to selling any pads or telling a customer such a thing. my claim was then denied!! This shocked me as to the fact that the pad was more expensive then the fire pit and it was in a completley other area of the store than the pit!! my family and i have been home depot customers since the beggining!! we have been loyal customers and for us to receive such wrongfull information reaaly ends any further bussiness with such a company. Theres a Lowes in town but i have always driven the extra 20 minutes to go to the Home Depot!!! Since this incident ive cut my ties from Home Depot and even threw out the gift cards I had!!! I Now buy all my home improvement supplies from other knowlagible home improvement stores. It is clearly obvious that home depot carse more for a quick dollar then keeping loyal customers happy.

  143. I also got the run around when I presented my Military ID. Not only did they say they would not except it but it wasn't the right kind. This was issued about a month a go at our main court house in Doyestown PA. Took my DD214 & got it for free. They also said they only honor them on 4th of July & Memorial Day now! Funny because another home depot doesn't even want me to take it out of my wallet & I still get my 10% off! Blow me home depot! Switching to Lowe's!

We have been getting the run around for a year now. We had gotten a granite counter top with Home Depot in Manhawkin NJ installed last year as they installed the counter top they had broken the corner piece. Spoke with headquarters,Innovation stone and home depot in Manahawkin about the situation and to get our a balance of $265.00 off being they had cracked and repaired the piece that was cracked. Now I have a brand new counter top and paid top dollar for a counter top that is broken!!!! How is that good service?? I would NEVER recomend Home Depot,Innovation Stone,to anyone...... So the bottom line is they sent me to collections for not paying the balance. Never had bad credit in my life. So thank you home depot for giving me bad service bad credit and a broken counter top!!!!!!!!

  145. Perturbed EmployeeAugust 29, 2012 at 5:31 PM

I am a current employee of home depot. Feb. 2012, Black History month, my apron read "Black History" I was pulled to the side and was asked to remove it. Apparently they said it was "offencive black slogans." I felt very disrespected being an african american. I don't understand how it was offencive, other employees are able to decorate theirs aprons with Irish slogans, or Christmas jargons.

Aug. 2012: This is more of a question. I recieved a write up for a call off that was not a call off, I switched days with a fellow co-worker it was approved by the store manager. But I still was written up for a call off. On another day I could'nt make it to work due to financial reasons, I called in and made them aware of this. I used sick time I had available. But I still recieved a write up. The question I would like to know is, how can I use alotted sick time and still get a write up??

  148. After spending an hour or so in the store with an associate on the computer entering all the information needed for us to replace the front door and sidelite, we set up an appointment for a gentleman to come to the house to take exact measurements. The appointment was scheduled for 3 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 12th. The man showed up 30 minutes early and spent an hour and a half at our home. He was a very nice gentleman who spent a lot of time telling us stories! It got to the point that I was highly irritated and just wanted him to leave! Then, to top it off, he told us we couldn't order the door we spent so much time looking at in the store. We had selected a steel door, but he said he only sells fiberglass doors. After he calculated the cost which was about $500 more than the quote we got from the store, we asked him to break it down for us. Then he decided he could take off one of the charges. He also said in order to get the 10% discount, we would have to put down a 25% deposit right then. He stated that the 10% deal expired that day! This morning we opened the newspaper and found an ad for Home Depot offering 15% off selected doors and windows! This experience has made me question whether or not I want to do business with them!

  149. Home depot starting pay rate is the same rate I made in high school
I am over 40. Im a skilled and certified tradesman.
The scheduling makes it impossible to get a second job.
They do train us but also it's impossible to advance in specialized training
Because you can only train when you are working but when you are working you are to busy.
If customers see you at a computer w headphones on they think you are rude and
    Ignoring them.
The scheduling is awful. I am a specialist in a department however
I'm often scheduled alone and can't find anyone else in my store qualified to
    Help if needed.
I am only one person doing the best I can!
I agree w many customers here, on many points.
We as Home Depot employees are expected by you, the customer
To know it all! I am lucky I grew up in a family owned construction company,
So I do know a lot, but you can't expect all employees to know everything.
Most are only trained to do one job in one department.
I understand most of your frustrations and I have a few of my own also,
I have been lucky enough to work with some great ppl.
I don't agree with Home Depots return policy.
It promotes theft if you ask me.
I have seen a lot of tools returned that were used once for a job
And then returned and nothing was wrong with it, people only wanted to use it and get their $ back.
I think it would be fair to either not take it back if nothing is wrong with it, or discount it on the shelf and mark it as used. It's not fair to the consumer to think they are getting a new product just to open it and find it used.
I have worked at great stores and not so great with in the Orange team.
I have worked in 4 different departments. I'm a valuable asset for a home improvement retail store.
However not allowing the rate of pay to reflect a persons experience doesn't encourage a lengthy stay w HD from a employees point of view. I wish they could make a mold of my last store and copy it because even though the pay was embarrassing for anyone over 18yrs to say out loud, Infact my accountant laughed out loud when he saw my last tax statement. Sad yet ironic thing is I can no longer afford to hire him.
He actually suggested I quit, go on unemployment and that would give me time to find a better paying job.
I know I took the job but I was desperate at that time and now I'm still in the same financial situation.
I'm just wondering when does it get better? How many years do you have to work at HD to make the pay that reflects my skills? Okay so I don't know if it's against policy or not to write this, to voice. I haven't tried to be negative, I'm being professional and respectful. I do love my job most days but when my pay check comes I cry every time. I work hard, I am helpful, I am knowledgeable, I'm on time, never call in sick, I help people and hear " wow thanks you were a huge help!" everyday.
So why am I making less than $10 hour and expected to know so much?

  150. DON'T USE HOME DEPOT. THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE OF OVER SEVEN THOUSAND TO REPLACE MY ROOF. AFTER THEY REMOVED MY ROOF, THEY RANG MY BELL AND TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL ALMOST FOUR MORE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR BAD PLYWOOD. WHAT KIND OF MESS IS THIS. THEY HAVE AWFUL COMMUNICATION AND SERVICE AS FAR AS INSTALLATIONS ARE CONCERNED. THEY ARE JUST THE WORST.

  151. Home Depot in Yonkers new york has to be the worst store I've ever shopped in. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. THE STORE IS VERY POORLY MANAGED. FROM NOW ON I WILL MAKE THE TRIP OVER TO ROCK LAND COUNTY LOWE'S. IT TAKES ABOUT AN ADDITIONAL 30 MINUTES OR SO BUT IT IS WORTH IT. THE STORE IS CLEAN, THE PEOPLE THAT WORK ARE POLITE AND HELPFUL. THE PEOPLE IN HOME DEPOT YONKERS ARE VERY NASTY AND SEEM TO HAVE A CHIP ON THEIR SHOULDER. IF I WAS THE MANAGER THERE I WOULD GET RID OF HALF THE CREW THERE. I WAS JUST THERE 9/21/2012 AND HAD TO GET PLUMBING PARTS FOR A JOB. THERE WAS THIS BLACK GUY THAT WAS WORKING IN THE PLUMBING DEPARTMENT. I HAD TO INTERRUPT HIM FROM TALKING TO FRIEND FOR HIM TO HELP ME. I HEARD HIM SAY TO HIS FRIEND HE WANTED TO HIT ME FOR INTERRUPTING HIM. I WILL NEVER EVER SHOP THERE AGAIN. THIS COMPANY REALLY NEEDS TO SCREEN IT'S HELP BETTER. I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE. WHAT A SHIT HOLE.

  152. I own a business and spend close to $100,000 in HD. I asked for a 4 X 8 sheet to be cut in half. The guy who cut actuall ripped the board and when I said something to him I was told it was not a finish blade and if I did not like it I could leave it and take a full sheet and cut it myself. I went ahead and took the board and then called the store manager and he said was did you get the associates name, however, I did get his name which is Mike. When I told him he just lost my business he said ok if that's the way you feel. I was going to call corporate but it seems they do not care either and I would be wasting my valuable time and breath. I even told him my business was going to Lowes and that did not seem bother him either. He probably thought I kidding but I was serious. By the way this is the store located in Sunset Hills, MO.

  153. Here is a word of warning! If you get injured at Home Depot because an employee dropped a piece of wood on your foot and broke your big toe as I had happen to me...MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT LEAVE THE STORE WITHOUT GETTING YOUR COPY OF THE STATEMENT FROM BOTH YOURSELF AND THE EMPLOYEE on the accident report. I made the mistake of leaving the store without getting the statement from the employee that dropped the wood on my foot. He then lied to his boss or was coached into telling them that I dropped the wood on my own foot. I had my wife with me and offered her as a witness but because they consider her an unbiased witness she is not allowed to enter her story. By the way she is a "ordained minister" but some how Home Depot says she would lie. Lawyers will not take the case because it is only a broken toe and not worth the time. I was told the most a court would allow is about $6000-$9000 and the lawyers get 40%-50% after expenses. Home Depot Lawyers know the game,,, as 3 separate lawyers told me,,, and to just take the medical money they were offering me to reimburse me for my medical bills. Sorry world we live in! I still believe in Karma. I personally know that this is not the only life we live as i have had near a death experience in the past and as the saying goes "what comes around goes around" Maybe Home Depot with all it's business practices will receive a comparable Karma in the end. So my warning to you is cover all your bases when something happens....Make sure you have both story's and they are the truth. Because people will lie for the dollar! Americans have lost their sense of decency.... I am amazed that people here don't post reviews on YOUTUBE about Home Depot...I have found thousands of bad story's about this company all over the web. If you want to make your wrong doings by Home Depot heard get videos on YouTube.

  154. I want to commend a cashier named Jacquelyn - JPT534, who works in the Customer Service Dept. in the HD Store at 220 S.State Road 7 in West Palm Beach, FL. I was amazed at her ability to multi-task, juggling complicated orders and ringing phones while typing data into the computer, and, at the same time, exchanging pleasantries with impatient customers and other clerks. And she managed to get it all right without missing a beat. Whatever you are presently paying her, I recommend a raise.
    An impressed customer

Even if someone eventually answers the main number, it usually does no good because the individual departments don't pick up. This store is so bad that I have resorted to driving to Jefferson parish to shop at Lowes.
