Where Did The Hallmark Channel Go on UVERSE?


AT&T and Crown Media's negotiations on the Hallmark Channel fell through on September, 1st.

AT&T stated that Hallmark "Has Refused to provide AT&T customers with a fair deal. One that is no worse than similarly sized and smaller providers-and refused to adhere to key obligations under our current deal."

Hallmark CEO, Bill Abbott, responded with "I was stunned by the apparent disregard for the facts in AT&T's recent statement regarding our negotiations."

So the battle is over and the loser is the customer's of AT&T's Uverse who wish to view the Hallmark Channel.

    3. Am a new customer and am very upset that I can't the Hallmark channel which is one of my favorites. Not sure how long I will stay with AT&T without it. There needs to be some movement on settling this matter. I am sure that AT&T can pay the price that Hallmark is asking. They don't want to lose good customers. If Dish can afford to pay I know they can.

    4. AT&T is nothing more than a large company who does not care about providing quality entertainment such as the Hallmark channels. I am an AT&T retiree and I am speaking from experience.

    We have been ATT customer for a long time and added ATT Uverse one week ago and we are VERY UPSET that we did not have the Hallmark Channel! We Love it and watch it daily. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!

  3. Hallmark Channel is the main channel I watch. I switched to Uverse July 2nd and made sure Hallmark channel was part of the line up. I AM VERY disappointed. Plrase bring it back!!!

  6. What's going on ? Are they going to bring back the Hallmark channels? I noticed the Food network ,HGTV and DIY was gone. But now they are back ! When do we get the Hallmark channel back? My family and friends all miss it !! Very disappointed !!!

    take off popular programming. I guess when the contract ends, it's back to Comcast.

  9. I am very displeased with Uverse because there is no Hallmark channel I watch this cahnnel a lot and I love the Christmas movies, and now they have runined my christmas and I am going to switch. I want to encourage everyone to leave uverse and go to another company that cares what their customers want. I will also post this my face book telling everyone to leave Uverse.

  10. Anonymous, I feel exactly the same way. It's not Christmas without the Hallmark Channel movies! I'm so upset about this. The Hallmark channel is one of my favorites!!! My husband works at AT&T so I can't leave but I really want to. I really enjoy watching Martha Stewart during the holidays as well. So I can't watch that either. I'm furious. I just spent about an hour on the phone trying to get through to AT&T customer service to complain, and they don't even have a website for complaints,customer service issues etc.. How can they get their customer's feedback? Do they even care about their customer's at all? The answer is No!

  11. I am very upset we just switched to AT&T this year after being with direct tv for over 10 years. Now I have to go to the Hallmark store and try to buy my favorite Christmas movies. Hallmark Channel is in my top 3 most watched channels. If AT&T does not get it back soon we will have to switch back to Direct TV. I will be glad to pay extra for the channel just give it back!!!

  12. Please settle whatever the dispute is between U-verse and Hallmark. We just switched from Direct-TV to U-verse today. We have 30 days to cancel, and go back to Direct-TV. Just may over this issue.

  26. I was very disappointed to find out that U-verse does not carry the Hallmark Channel. I would have NEVER switched carriers if I had known that U-verse dropped them. Over 700 channels and not a darn thing worth watching. There's definetly a market for wholesome quality movies. So, where are they? Please bring the Hallmark Channel back!! If not, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

  28. I've been with AT&T for over 20 years for home and cell phones. For about 3 years I have been inundated with requests from AT&T to switch from Comcast to UVerse and finally did so this weekend. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that although it offers a lot of channels the Hallmark channel is not one. To say I am angry is an understatement. At this very moment I am considering switching back except something is done. I am not a happy camper!!!

    1. I totally agree! I just switched from Time Warner to AT&T and am very disappointed that the Hallmark Channel is not on their line of channels.
      Hallmark is my very favorite channel because it is the best channel for family friendly movies and shows. All the movies I watch is on that channel. I fell like AT&T needs to do everything they can to get this channel or they will lose a lot of clients.

  29. Hearing this kind of thing makes me glad to be an employee and subscriber of DISH Network, where we have all those channels. DISH has a lot of other advantages too. For instance when you’re receiving all your entertainment / communication services from a single source, if one goes down, everything goes down. DISH also has more HD channels than anyone else in the industry and with great offers like HD free for life you end up paying less too. All those little things really add up.

  30. We are getting ready to switch from Direct TV to UVerse. They came to install it and found that our cable was damaged so they delayed installation for another week. They left their channel guide and I looked for my favorite channel Hallmark. Very disappointed that it isn't available. I will definitely switch back to Direct TV and cancel my order for UVerse. I'd rather pay for one favorite channel than 200 channels that I have no interest or desire to watch. I noticed they have the Playboy channel. UVerse must favor smut over wholesome family TV.

There is so much trash on TV these days - Hallmark is clean and entertaining. It's a network the WHOLE family can enjoy!!! BRING HALLMARK BACK!!!!!!!

I think it is Hallmark that is being greedy. U-Verse offers so many channels that I have founnd Christmas movies without Hallmark..Don't blame AT&T I wouldn't pay anymore than the other providers.

  69. Wow! I ordered Uverse earlier this week and have been anxiously awaiting installation. I decided to look through the channel lineup tonight and couldn't find the Hallmark channel. A google search uncovered the sad truth. Hallmark and Food Network are the two channels I must have. I was really happy to be getting Uverse, but now I will be canceling my order. I'm just glad I found out before I switched and got locked into a contract. Bummer!

  72. Amen to all the comments above!!! If I had known I was losing all the Hallmark Channels, and all the channels I like best, I would have stayed with DirecTV!! The only thing with DirecTV is you lose the signal everytime it rains or storms. They have a much better channel line up than Uverse!!! I am sick and tired of not having the Hallmark channels to watch. It's going to be a lousy Christmas for sure! I have had Uverse for about a year now, but if you don't get the Hallmark channel back soon, we are going back to DirecTV...even if it does go out all the time!!!!!!

  78. If I had known there was no Hallmark Channel, I wouldnt have switched to AT&T. I could care less about all the sports channels, all I want is one Hallmark Channel to watch the Christmas shows!
    I will be going back to Direct as soon as I can. The customer service was much better, and my picture was better. Perfect example of how big companies dont listen to or care what the customers want.

  81. This has been going on for over a year now and it is the same story when you call in to customer service they are still trying to work on a contract with Hallmark. This is crazy that you are unable to come up with a deal to get this channel back. I think ATT has stopped trying to get Hallmark back. I love this channel especially during Christmas. This is the 2nd christmas without this channel.

  83. I switched to Direct TV because ATT dropped the Hallmark channel and Hallmark Movie channel. I stuck it out for about a year before switching in the hope that they would bring Hallmark back. It appeared that ATT wasn't trying to reach an agreement. There are so many crappy channels that they could have gotten rid of instead. Direct TV sucks but they do are cheaper and they do have the Hallmark channels.I will go back to Uverse if they get the channels back.

  85. I switched today to UVerse. Discovered that AT&T is not offering Hallmark Channel. Unverse sales rep assured me I would be getting same channels as with Xfinity. Will be switching back to Comcast cable and keeping only AT&T internet. Don't like to be lied to. Although I like strong shows such as Boss and Homeland, I also like to watch Martha Stewart and Hallmark movies.

  87. It sounds like UVERSE does not care what their customers want. Dish Network, Dish Direct, Comcast seems like they do not have a problem providing Hallmark channel for their customer why don’t UVERSE? I guess as long as the CEO is RICH and HAPPY with the money us customers pay him/her then I guess the CEO DOES NOT CARE what his/her customers want. Maybe the CEO has been outsourced and that is why they do not care? Just guessing that could be the problem?

Not sure what we are going to do because my husband wants U-verse but my daughter and I vote for Hallmark channel over it. I will keep trying to find out from AT&T what is going on. Those of you that have JUST subscribed to AT&T U-Verse and you are a dis-satisfied customer, because, among other things....U-verse does not carry The Hallmark Channel, you were given a 30-day trial period. You may revert back to your former carrier as long as the trial period is still in effect.

I see there are a number of people that favor the Hallmark channel.I to agree with many of them.My family watched Hallmark all of the time when I subscribed to Comcast because with all of the stations on uverse there are not to many for the family.I was very disappointed when we found out we did not have the Hallmark channel especially during the Christmas season.   104. I am so disappointed that they have not been able to come to a resolution to this problem in over a year. My family will be switching cable companies, and since we are bundled it will mean a switch for everything. When our cell phone contracts are up we will leave AT&T, not very happy at all.
    When will we get a response to these concerns??

  105. We have been wanting to get out of ComCast for a long time, and were excited when we learned that AT&T finally has fibre optics in our area. I was ready to make the switch to U-verse, but decided to hold off. after learning that HallMark was not offered. It's a problem because we also need high speed internet which the other companies only offer by affiliates.

  107. My contract is up with Directv and I was looking into ATT, Thank you all for your comments. NOT switching, I love Hallmark at Christmas. I have the cheapest package with Directv and pay $33.66 a month and that is with Hallmark! How much TV do you really watch and how many movies do you rent. People learn to downsize, for two to 3hours a night, how much do you really NEED?? I have elite internet with ATT and pay $19.95. No one can bundle that! LOL.

  111. Very interesting. I too have been waiting for the elusive email saying U-verse is now availabe in my area and it FINALLY came today. Yay! Hang on ... not so fast!! Are you kidding me?!? No Hallmark channel?!??! Seriously?? 250+ channels in the package I was considering and AT&T and Hallmark can't come to some sort of agreement??? Instead you all just picked up your toys and went home, screw the customer. As much as I HATE, DETEST AND LOATHE Charter, I guess I will be keeping them for now because I'mn not willing to give up my Golden Girls.

  112. I was just going to record the JESSE STONE marathon all day Saturday on the Hallmark Channel. I Googled to find out
    what the Hallmark Channel number is on AT&T U-Verse and saw that it had been discontinued. Whaaaaat?? I don't watch much TV, but when I want to watch something or record it, FOR THE PRICE WE PAY MONTHLY FOR ATT&T, we should have access to 250 plus channels! Especially the HALLMARK channel - that is just outrageous!! X-FINITIY is looking better and better. AT&T really is messed up!

  114. We have talked so highly of AT&T to our friends and family and many of them have changed over. Now I feel bad we ever encouraged them to changed. Where we live we have several choices and this issue with The Hallmark network needs to change or we will have to change providers. One of the things we liked about Uverse was the customer service but it is sad no one seems to be listening regarding this issue. Shame on you Uverse you customer should come first.

  116. Hallmark Channel was always on the list of channels I checked for before choosing a provider. We switched to U-verse right before Hallmark was dropped. I have been so disappointed. When it is time to evaluate my cable/internet providers(soon), I will still be using Hallmark as my criteria for selection. I guess U-verse will be out!

  122. I just switched to Uverse. I was in the middle of a Movie series that day on Halmark. Guess what? I tried to find halmark all that afternoon after the installer left, which was on a Thursday. I tried all weekend. Can I assume that Halmark is not part of the Uverse family. Maybe I should have stayed with comcast.

  132. I just got at&t uverse today. After lousy service with Comcast, I may switch back. Most of my tv viewing is on the Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movie Channel and GMC. I love those channels. Wish now I had checked the channel line up on AT&T Uverse before switching. Had I known, would not have chosen them. Please bring these channels back.

  133. No Hallmark channel, no "Antenna TV" channel which carried great 50's sitcoms, and no "Local on the 8's" weather channel specific for my county. U verse also does not carry my local community/education channel. All of which I was getting with comcast. PLUS, they have not billed me correctly for my phone service since I signed up with them despite many many calls to customer service. The billing error has been dragging on for months. Very disappointed.

  135. I was told U-Verse was in talks with Hallmark & hopefully it would be back on the air due to all the request for it. Still have not heard anything. Amazing they sure negotiated with Fox Sports channels.
    Come on U-Verse put Hallmark back in your line up, otherwise your going to lose a whole lot of business. If its not back on before October, were leaving, our family will not go through another holiday season without it.
